The crew of the small boat successfully navigated more than 2000 miles in enemy-infested seas, and successfully reached the safety of Australia after 31 days at sea. Included are 2 maps. Author and captain of the minesweeper Quail, John Morrill (1903-1997) was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and assumed command of the Quail in 1939.
